A pre-holiday treat

It is now secret that I have a fondness for
Fig Tree fabrics.

So I figured with all of the hard work
I have put in recently at school
I deserved a present to use in the school holidays.

And let me tell you, this little bundle is calling my name...
Hurry up Friday 3:20 pm.

Confessions of a sew-aholic

This is my fabric cupboard after a recent tidy up.

This is a pile of stuff that doesn't fit inside my cupboard.
(sorry forgot to rotate the picture)
It is an assortment of unfinished projects, mending and goodness knows what, really.

This is a basket that sits on the floor in front of my cupboard as there
is nowhere else to put it.
It is home to 2 completed quilts and 2 unfinished quilts.
There are also some polystyrene balls bought for Christmas baubles last year...

This is a stack of crates that also just sit there,
full of fabric that won't fit in my cupboard
and an assortment of sewing gadgets.

There is this one, a little crate that sits under the ironing board,
filled with batting, stuffing and fabric.

Finally, there is the monster - Marcelle.
She is sitting on top of my printer on top of my sewing cabinet
that I don't use because it wont fit in the space I have.
See how much trouble I'm in?

I think I need an intervention.
Any thoughts?

A surprise!

I got mail from Sharon.
It is the next part of our  Let's Celebrate swap organised by
the lovely Mrs. Martin.
This time is was around the theme
"Biggest Morning Tea".

 Yummy teas, coffees and Timtams!
I am spoilt.

Sharon also made me the cutest mug bag -
complete with tea cups!

Now I can't wait for Sharon (Hi Sharon!) to receive her gift and see
if she gets the giggles like I did.  She will understand :)

What a pain...

in the arm, twice!

Lucy got me and this is only one portion of the damage she caused.
There is a black cat that hangs around our house at night, it should be locked inside at sunset.
It torments Lucy and it has got to the point that we have had to lock her in the laundry at bedtime.
I went to pick her up on Thursday night, no realising the other cat was watching her.
I picked her up and she started to growl, I tried to put her down but it was too late...
So, my poor arm was ripped up a bit and after a trip to the doctor,
it is ever sorer still because of the tetanus shot I had to have.
I also have an antibiotic cream to use.
I am currently giving Lucy a wide berth.

Friday

Thank goodness for Friday.
3:20 pm is my favorite time of the week.
School is over and it's the weekend.
We usually have take-away for dinner, or something simple and then
kick back and relax.  As a family we watch a movie.
Friday night is movie night and it is a really nice way to finish another busy week.

And I will sit and continue to work on this little treasure.

When you can't sew...

You shop online and wait for the postie to deliver your goodies.

Kit for Mrs Beasley's Sampler Quilt.

A mystery parcel from the U.S.A. - had me puzzled.

Final few blocks of my mystery BOM from Rossville Quilts.
Just need the school holidays to get stuck into it.

While I was gone...

This little monster had a birthday.
Hard to believe he is 11!

Being the good mother I am he got his birthday wishes;
Lego and McDonald's.

What else could you possibly need?
Cake.
It was delicious.
He was happy.

I'm back...

Oh blogland how I've missed you.
My life has been all work and very little play for what seems like an eternity.
I have read the odd blog post and tried to email people,
but think I failed miserably.
Sometimes working full time and being a mum just gets to be such a mammoth task...
especially around report writing time.
For me and my colleagues and probably most other independent primary schools
we don't get a designated report writing day, this means it is done in our own time.
I'm up to about 46 hours this time.
They will be printed tomorrow and sent home on Friday.
So I bought myself a little present, it is scrumptious!

Can't wait to cut into this little lot!

I love books

So I have been waiting and waiting and waiting
for this book to arrive.

I think I ordered it back in January, gosh I'm patient, lol.

I ordered this one cause there was something on Shez's blog
once that caught my eye and I just had to have it.
Sadly I can't remember what it was...

And I bought this one just because.
I have read most of the Elm Creek novels and thought something
new for the school holidays was in order.
Now, how many days until Victoria has it's break???
